Ingram welcomes $1.3 million for local schools
The Independent Member for Gippsland East, Craig Ingram, has welcomed an announcement of $1.3 million towards building works at three schools in his electorate.
“Cann River P-12 College will receive $400,000 to extend and refurbish its established science room to create a flexible science and information technology centre,” Mr Ingram said.
“East Gippsland Specialist School at Bairnsdale has been allocated $500,000 to provide a home crafts and workshop specialist learning hub and Swan Reach Primary School will extend and reconfigure the established staff administration centre and distance education area with a government contribution of $400,000.
“I am pleased that these schools have been allocated the funding.
“Schools are the focus of our communities, particularly in rural and remote areas, and it is essential that they have modern facilities to ensure that students and staff and given the best possible learning and teaching environments.
“I will continue working with all primary and secondary schools within my electorate to ensure Gippsland East continues to receive its share of state funding,” Mr Ingram concluded.
